'Khaled Hosseini's new book is an ode to the undying spirit of the people of Afghanistan in general and women in particular. This one too, like its predecessor, is not going off the shelf any time soon.' Inam Abidi Amrohvi

This book is an amazing read and gained our top rating of 5*. Set in a burnt and desolate America this book tells the story of a father and his son and their fight for survival. They have nothing but a pistol to defend themselves against the remaining survivors who also roam the land, the clothes they are wearing, a cart of scavenged food - and each other. A truly gripping tale.

Mixed reviews on this one it has to be said, which is why its only scored 3*. Its a true story and retells the lives of a group of women back inthe early 30's who began a secret magazine the Co-orperative Correspondance Club. In it they write about every aspect of thier lives from the pain & elation of childbirth to broken hearts and fading dreams. A mixed bag all round but would be interested to hear your comments!
